How I work

My way of working is tailored to your unique needs by blending and integrating two types of therapy.

Person-centred Approach

The person-centred approach prioritises your freedom as a client and the provision of a non-judgemental, empathic space in which you are able to explore your emotions and experiences at your own pace.

Rather than offering you advice or solutions, my approach is non-directive. I believe in the ethos that “you are the expert on your own life”, so rather than being led by me you are free to focus on whatever feels important in every session. I may, at times, gently challenge you or offer you a new perspective, but this is always done with care, curiosity, and the aim of deepening your understanding of who you are.

Psychodynamic Therapy

I believe that we are walking history books. The relationships and experiences we had in childhood are continually shaping who we are today and how we relate to others. Psychodynamic therapy seeks to understand how your past is impacting your present.

If it feels helpful for you, I may invite you to revisit certain aspects of your past and consider whether there may be unconscious patterns causing you pain and holding you back. Together we can become aware of these patterns and understand how they began, thereby empowering you to break free from old cycles and make more conscious choices moving forward.
